Bill Simmons

Bill Simmons made a few headlines on Monday. First, he reported that NBA star Zion Williamson might be traded, but he made even bigger news about his comments about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Simmons, a sports commentator and an executive with Spotify, slammed the couple, calling them “grifters” after their deal with Spotify ended. “I wish I had been involved in the Meghan and Harry leave Spotify negotiation,” Simmons said on his self-titled podcast Friday.

“‘The ******* Grifters.’ That’s the podcast we should have launched with them. I have got to get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories **** them. The grifters”

This is not the first time Simmons criticized the couple. Simmons says he was even embarrassed to be on Spotify with Prince Harry back in January of this year. “What does he do? It’s one of those things where it’s like, what’s your talent? Why are we listening to you? So you were born in a royal family, and then you left” ” he said. You live in f**king Montecito, and you just, like, you sell documentaries and podcasts, and nobody cares what you have to say about anything unless you talk about the royal family, and you just complain about the”.”

Social media did not take too kindly to Simmons’ comments, as many dragged him for being so harsh.

To put everything into perspective, the couple made only $20 million off of Spotify, while Simmons makes about $200 million for his show. So the question some are asking is, who is the real grifter?
