When it comes to medication, there really are not a whole lot of ways to make some side effects sound all that great. But maybe that’s just because we haven’t heard them sung to us in the harmonic tones of Boyz II Men before? Luckilly for us, the motown group from Philly is here to make those uncomfortable-sounding side effects sounds much more pleasant in a new advertisement from Geico.

Imagine going to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy and having these guys pop up behind the pharmacist to sing to you what you are in store for once you take the meds.

I personally have grown tired of these Geico “It’s what you do” ads. The creativity and humor was lost long ago when it became painfully obvious they were reaching deep into a shallow pool for ideas. But, you throw Boyz II Men in the equation and I’ll listen. The Boyz II Men ad is not the first time Geico has brought in musical acts to star in their commercials. In fact, they are building quite the reputation for it.

Remember Salt-N-Pepa in 2014? This one was one of my favorites…

More recently, Geico has featured Ice-T in this great spot…

Reaching into a different genre of music, Geico also had this spot with Kenny Rogers in 2014…

Personally, I’m still a big fan of this classic commercial from Starbucks, featuring none other than Survivor…

Keeping in line with the stadium jock jams theme, Starbucks also tried out “Rock and Roll Part 2” for an ad.

Keep it up, advertising wizards. There is no shortage of music artists you can bring back into the spotlight at any time. Which one of the above videos is your favorite? Or, if not listed above, what commercial starring a musical artist is your favorite? Share your comments below.
