Court is now in session. CBS is developing a drama television series that looks back at the life of Judy Sheindlin, who is more commonly known as Judge Judy.

Judge Judy first premiered on TV on September 16, 1996 and has aired over 5,000 episodes since. As a result, CBS has decided to make a series based on the famed Judge and her long career.

Variety broke the story and mentioned Law & Order and Chicago Justice showrunner Michael Chernuchin is writing the pilot along with series co-writer Judy Sheindlin.

The show, which will be titled Her Honor, will follow Judy when she was the youngest judge in New York during her time in Family Court. It will also take a look at her quest to have a normal life outside of court.

Variety didn’t report on wether or not Sheindlin will appear in the show, however she doesn’t really need to. Thanks to her TV series Judge Judy, Sheindlin is already the most profitable star on television. Due to a recent renewal of the show that runs through 2020, Sheindlin is slated to make over $47 million per year.

The contract also gave CBS the rights to develop a new series, which it is already taking advantage of. CBS already produces Judge Judy and will now add Her Honor to its slate with the help of executive producers Arnold Kopelson, Anne Kopelson, Sheindlin, and Chernuchin.

This also isn’t a new venture in ways for CBS. This fall, CBS will debut Bull, a legal drama starting Michael Weatherly about the early life of Dr. Phil.

This got us thinking, what other famous television stars like Judge Judy and Dr. Phil could networks create series based on?

Oprah – She’s a billionaire, a friend of President Obama, and has her own television network. This would be an easy choice for a network, but since Oprah does have her own network, the Oprah Winfrey Network, it would probably have to air there.

Larry King – Can you imagine what this would be like? The TV star is known for his ability to interview pretty much anyone. You can find King talking to a politician about a series issue during the day and then see him watching a Dodger game at night.

Regis Philbin – The TV star has had his own morning talk show and a show on Fox Sports 1. Just like Larry King, he covers so many different demographics from sports to politics to gossip.
