The season five finale of Chicago Fire will feature a couple players from the World Series champion Chicago Cubs. Jake Arrieta and Kris Bryant will feature in the final episode of the season, which is set to air May 16.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the episode will be about the fire department helping save a young Cubs fan who was injured in a car accident. And after his massive card collection was lost in a fire, one of the characters was able to get Arrieta, Bryant and the World Series trophy to visit the kid to raise the fan’s spirits.

In addition to Arrieta and Bryant, Mike Tirico will also be in that episode. It’s unknown what Tirico will actually be doing but I would guess that he would be playing himself in some capacity. And considering he is an NBC employee, it’s a nice way for NBC to have synergy among their various properties. Jack Donaghy would be proud.

Chicago Fire shoots in Chicago and follows firefighters and paramedics at Firehouse 51. Like Dick Wolf’s Law and Order series, Chicago Fire has spawned other series within the city of Chicago which follow police officers (Chicago P.D.), doctors and nurses (Chicago Med) and prosecutors and investigators (Chicago Justice).
