If it weren’t for “Basket Case” being released 22 years ago, chances are none of you would know who the band Green Day were. The punk rock group broke on to the national scene with that iconic song, and now there is an equally iconic video to go with it.

Yes, the entire song is done using the words of some of the most memorable characters in American cinematic history, including the Wayans Brothers, several Pirates of the Caribbean, Ali G, Wayne and Garth from Wayne’s World, and plenty of others.
The best part of all these clips? There’s no connection to the world of music! They’re just random quotes from the movies!
There’s something to love and reminisce about in each of the scenes shown, and it’s a fitting tribute to one of the songs that brought punk rock back to the mainstream American music scene in the early 1990’s.
As a song, “Basket Case” spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard modern rock charts. 22 years later, a montage of move clips is bringing it back to the forefront of our minds.
