Netflix has brought back Gilmore Girls and Full House, and now they may be moving forward in resurrecting Mystery Science Theater 3000. The dedicated fans of the cult hit show have successfully lobbied for the return of the show, and Netflix will be the outlet to enjoy the classic zingers and one-liners of the MST3k crew once again.

What started out as a crowdsourcing campaign on Kickstarter to revive the show wasted little time in exceeding its goal. The goal of $5.7 million was exceeded by at least $200,000, thus propelling the show’s return into production for a 12-episode run. Netflix, having already dipped its hand and showing what it can do with original programming, swooped in to add the show’s return to its inventory. It has set the date for the show to drop on the streaming service for April 14.

A cast photo was posted by Netflix, giving fans a chance to see the cast of familiar and new faces. Among them are Joel Hodgson, Jonah Ray, Patton Oswalt, Felicia Day and the new voices of the robots, Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn.

Of course, the fans of the show have never gone away and continue to be a loyal bunch. In fact, the show is still pumping out merchandise today, allowing at least one longtime fan to fulfill a life goal.

So get ready to watch some low-rent movies with some sarcastic commentary from your favorite robot commentators. The fun begins on April 14.
