Democracy is a beautiful thing. In the UK’s general election, a self-described intergalactic space lord named Lord Buckethead is stealing votes from legitimate candidates. Even the candidates on stage couldn’t control their chuckles as it was announced that Lord Buckethead received 249 votes.

As you can see in the video, Lord Buckethead isn’t the only absurd candidate in this year’s election. We’ve also got Howling Laud Hope of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party (119 votes), and Elmo (3 votes).
But Lord Buckethead was the only one to snag a trending spot on Twitter.
Good to see Lord Buckethead clapping politely at Teresa May's count. That's democracy.

Worth noting that Lord Buckethead in one parliamentary constituency did better than Jim Gilmore did in the entire state of Iowa in 2016

My American fiancé is thoroughly enjoying the Monster Raving Loony Party, Lord Buckethead and Elmo. He’s paid his deposit, that’s democracy.

Imagine looking up your family tree and finding out your ancestor ran as a politician…..called Lord Buckethead.

Like any serious political candidate in 2017, Lord Buckethead has his own Twitter as well.
