Luke Skywalker doesn’t bring work home with him.

Actor Mark Hamill — who plays the iconic character in the Star Wars franchise — responded to fan questions on Twitter, and admitted that not only has he not seen The Empire Strikes Back in ‘many years’, but that he’s never seen the iconic space opera films on home video:

“Last time I saw original trilogy was Special Editions on big-screen in ’97 [was] with my kids. Never seen them on home video,” Hamill tweeted. When asked about episode 1, 2, 3 by a fan, Hamill responded with that he saw them “each as they were released in theatres. Again, never on home video.”

So perhaps Hamill hasn’t seen George Lucas’ newest touch-ups and edits on the most recent special editions?

You can’t really blame Hamill for not watching the movies at his home. I’m sure he’d seen them hundreds of times over the past four decades, so there’s probably not much incentive to watch them again. Hamill’s been connected to the Star Wars Universe for most of his life and I’m sure when he gets home he just wants to take a break and disconnect from that world.

Hamill returned to the series in the newest installments, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the upcoming untitled episode VIII. I’d imagine with the new films, he’ll continue his pattern of keeping his home life and work life separate. I’d bet being Luke Skywalker is exhausting.
