Molly missing dog Photo: WBTV

How about this for some uplifting news? A dog that had gone missing four years ago reappeared at her owner’s doorstep earlier this week in North Carolina.

Here’s how the owner, Joel McDonald, reacted to reuniting with Molly, from WBTV Charlotte:

“I didn’t know for sure but I thought it. And she just came and put her head in my lap and said ‘oh my,’” McDonald told WBTV on Thursday.

“I wasn’t expecting that. I’d already said she was gone,” McDonald said with a lump in his throat.

Where was Molly this whole time? Maybe she was surviving on her own somehow, but she appears to be in good shape in the WBTV video:

So maybe a new owner took her in, though that owner might now be worried about her dog of four years going missing! So much drama.

Regardless, it’s great that Molly is back with her rightful owners. They have four years of belly rubs to catch up on.

As a student about to graduate from college, I can only hope my parents are as happy to see me when I show up at their doorstep after four years.
