It’s been a long year for actress Nia Long since the actress discovered that long-time love and Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka was having an affair with another Celtics employee.
The news was leaked by the team to the media, which not only devastated Long but her family as well.
She feels, just as others did at the time, that such a private matter shouldn’t have been made public. Now she is calling out the Celtics for their actions and a lack of concern for her and her 10-year-old son.
Nia Long recently walked off a set for the first time in her 36-year career and says she knew it needed to be done “because it didn’t feel good in my belly” https://t.co/MSj9wUoJVO

“It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it’s not easy for him. If you’re in the business of protecting women — I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing,” Long told The Hollywood Reporter.
Yet despite that, Long received lots of support from people across the country, especially those in the media who spoke up and out on this situation.
“I literally felt like my heart had jumped out of my body,” she says of the media finding out. “And then what I found was this tribe of women and men who were standing up for me in a way that felt like I was in this bubble of protection, and that was very comforting.”
Long has now turned her attention to work and is looking forward to a new year and a new start.
“2023 is like the year of new beginnings for me,” she says. “I couldn’t be more excited.”
The third installment of Long’s The Best Man movie series will be coming out soon.
