Nicolas Cage is a divisive, inconsistent actor who’s performances range from brilliance to “NO NOT THE BEES!”

In Austin, Texas, fans of Cage and his unpredictable nature on the screen held the fourth annual Nicolas Cage festival ‘Caged.’ To the audience’s surprise, Cage crashed the event and treated everyone to some classic Nicolas Cage.

Cage sat through four of his own films, Bangkok Dangerous, Joe, Bringing Out the Dead, Army of One and Lord of War. Following the movie marathon, the National Treasure star participated in a nearly 50-minute Q&A. He capped the evening off reading a 10-minute rendition of The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe.

It’s amazing to see Cage give back to his fans. Being a Cage-faithful isn’t easy, especially in recent years, as Cage has taken almost every role offered to him. Ever heard of The Trust, Army of One or USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage? Of course, you haven’t. But, those are all films Cage did that came out in 2016!

Cage’s bizarre persona mixed in with his up-and-down acting is what makes him such a cult favorite. Showing up and rewarding die-hard fans is an awesome thing to do. It’s great to see Cage doesn’t take himself too seriously because if he did, he’d have some explaining to do for his recent film roles.
