The second season of Narcos will be dropping on Netflix later this year, and Roberto Escobar has requested the opportunity to watch it before anyone else.

Roberto Escobar is the brother of Pablo Escobar, the main subject of the hit Netflix series in which his rise to drug lord is chronicled. Roberto Escobar, an accountant for the cartel, wants to be sure the series is being fair to the storytelling as it relates to his family. According to a report from Business Insider, Roberto Escobar previously registered to be the recognized “successor-in-interest rights” to his brother, Pablo, and the entire family.

“I am submitting a formal, friendly request to review this material solely on an informational basis. It is depicting me, my life, my family, and my brother. I think nobody else in the world is alive to determine the validity of the materials, but me,” Roberto wrote in a statement.

A statement from Escobar Inc. CEO Olof Gustafsson claims they attempted to reach Netflix previously but received no response from Netflix about the release of “Narcos” on the streaming service. The company and Roberto Escobar continue to hope Netflix will answer their calls and letters before season two of the show is released in September.

“I think it is important that they recognize Roberto Escobar’s wishes to review the show they are putting out, ensuring the family and viewers of an accurate portrayal of Pablo and Roberto,” a statement from Golfsson said.

“Narcos” was nominated for a Golden Globe, Writers Guild of America Award and Satellite Award in the category for best television drama or episodic drama. Although it did not take home any of the awards it has been nominated for, it continues to demonstrate the quality of content being released by Netflix and “Narcos” is now a staple in the line-up for the streaming giant, which will soon be made available to Comcast’s X1 customers.
