In news I’ve been waiting to hear everyday for the last five years, HBO announced on Tuesday that Curb Your Enthusiasm will return for a Season 9:

The Emmy®- and Golden Globe-winning comedy series CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, starring Larry David, will return to HBO for its ninth season, it was announced today by Casey Bloys, president, HBO programming. Details of the new season will be announced as they are confirmed.

Asked why he decided to come back, David said, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

Season 8 aired on HBO in 2011, and it’s been uncertain since then if there would ever be a Season 9, but now we know there will be. As the above excerpt states, we don’t know when Season 9 will be, we can assume it will be in 2017 or 2018.

The news isn’t much of a surprise, given that just one week ago, JB Smoove (Leon) appeared on The Rich Eisen Show, and said that Larry David recently brought up the idea of a Season 9 to him:

Well, apparently it didn’t take long for everyone to get on board for a ninth season (And who could say no? This show has to be a freakin’ blast to be a part of, and the acting is basically improv with a general outline.).

Curb already has a massive fan base, but that could grow even more after how popular Larry David has become with his SNL appearances as presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Here’s a look at some of the best moments from Season 8 of Curb, to get you ready for Season 9 (NSFW language):
