We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs at the expense of the sculptor who made the infamous statue of Cristiano Ronaldo. The bust, residing in a Portuguese airport is supposed to resemble arguably one of the best (and most attractive) soccer players in the world and it was anything but.
Saturday Night Live had a bit of fun too as they brought Cecilia Gimenez (Kate McKinnon) on Weekend Update. Gimenez was known for trying to restore the painting “Ecce Homo” depicting Jesus Christ being crowned with thorns and turning it into…well it wasn’t great. But it became a work of art anyway.
Anyway, ignore the fact that the real Gimenez is Spanish and SNL is having her Portuguese in this instance, McKinnon talked about the Ronaldo statue and defending how that too, is a work of art.
Oh man, there are some great jokes in here. Even though it’s been a week or so and we all had our fun, Saturday Night Live may have saved the best for last.
