A Dunkin’ Donuts in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, was damaged by fire and residents in the town were devastated.

The fine donut establishment was shut down after a 13-year-old set fire to the bathroom in late July. The damage was extensive, causing the Dunkin’ Donuts to close it doors. Locals did not react well.

It’s worth noting this is a real news report even though it feels like something straight from The Onion.

“I go there every day, I get a chicken bacon croissant, I get some coffee, some Powerade if I’m dehydrated. I sit there all the time. If I have any legal work I need to do, I go there. I meet with my attorneys there,” said Dutch Smith who is the star of this video and who I’m not convinced is using his actual name.

Edna Faust also chimed in, telling WNEP-TV “I’m going to miss that place if it doesn’t open up. Damn. A lot my friends go there, get the COLD COFFEE, iced coffee I guess it’s called.” It’s a poignant, necessary comment on the news.

Those locals don’t have to fret because the Dunkin’ Donuts reopened its doors on Friday. So, if Dutch Smith wants to talk to his attorneys or get his legal work done, or Edna Faust wants her friends to get cold coffee, their favorite hangout is back in business. Thank God.
