The internet trend of recutting shows and movies and reframing them in a much different light seems to never get old.

For those of us that came of age in the mid 1990’s, no movie spoke to our comedy leanings like that of Tommy Boy. It’s one of a few movies that can be put on over and over again, get endlessly quoted and never gets old.

That’s because it was also the seminal role for the late Chris Farley and his comedic stylings.

But, there is now a really watchable trailer that attempts to ask the question, what if Tommy Boy was really a drama?

Check out this recut trailer that suggests to today’s youth that Tommy Boy isn’t the epically fun movie that it was. Rather, it is a sad story of a dimwitted college grad who can’t possibly overcome his father’s death.

There’s no doubt that this movie as a drama wouldn’t hold the place it currently does in the hearts of all of us on the edge of two generations.
