t-rex

A person in a T-Rex costume competed on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior, and it went better than expected.

Despite the clearly scripted, painfully pun-filled commentary, it’s a pretty incredible feat to watch. The T-Rex did more than an admirable job on the sports obstacle course show. It jumps from barrier to barrier with relative ease despite being obstructed by the T-Rex costume. It continues to clear rope jumps, zip lines and block runs before falling into the water in a tougher swinging challenge. The T-Rex eventually gets back up and runs up a tough inclined wall before basking in the cheers of the many fans who were amazed he could do all the obstacles.

It’s incredible the person inside the T-Rex costume has both the strength and dexterity to complete multiple challenges while wearing the suit. American Ninja Warriors courses are designed to be difficult, even for the most physically fit competitor. I can imagine wearing a giant, flopping T-Rex suit would make things much, much harder. Frankly, it’s surprising the person in the costume made it as far as they did on the course.

The outing shows American Ninja Warriors obstacle course can somehow be even more challenging for competitors, especially if they wear a T-Rex suit. Props to the person inside who won’t get the necessary credit they deserve.
