When Jon Bon Jovi comes to your wedding, you gotta try to get him to get up and sing, right?

But what if he really, really, really doesn’t want to?

Apparently, as this case shows, you goad him into it by making it so impossibly awkward, that he is left with no other choice but to get up and belt out his most famous hit.

The awkwardness of this video can really not be understated. It’s like an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Office come to life. If you look closely, you can actually see his soul leave his body around the three-minute mark as the wedding singer compels him to sing the chorus for a third straight time:

BonJovi
Via Cool Coconut Studios YouTube, the moment Bon Jovi realizes he’d rather be doing another DirecTV ad.

However, some might say this impossible. After all, Bon Jovi already sold his soul to DirecTV when he agreed to do their turn-back-time commercials. I’m sure he was wishing that jingle worked in real life as well as it does on TV.

You see we’ve got the power to turn back time,

Let’s go back, Let’s rewind,

So lets go back and change my R-S-V-P,

No spontaneous wedding singing for me,

Heeyyy, that’s the power to turn back time.
