NASCAR is currently in their offseason so the drivers are finding ways to occupy themselves during the break. For current NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, that means showing up to Monday Night Raw and winning a WWE championship.

Busch was at Raw with his family and two-time Daytona 500 winner/Fox NASCAR analyst Michael Waltrip. Raw is in Nashville, Tennessee and Nashville is where NASCAR is holding their end of the year banquet this Thursday so it makes sense for the champ to take in a WWE event when in town.

24/7 champion R-Truth hid behind the barrier where Busch and Waltrip were standing and when he thought no one was after his title, the three of them stepped out from the barrier. It was then that R-Truth fell into a trap as Waltrip revealed (in an unintentionally seductive way) he was wearing a referee shirt and the 24/7 championship is defended 24/7 as long as a referee is present. After realizing that, Busch rolled up R-Truth, Waltrip counted the pin, and Kyle Busch is the new 24/7 champion.

Busch joins a rather eclectic list of people who have won the 24/7 Championship. It’s a title anyone can win and that’s definitely the case as the NASCAR champ joins such non-wrestler champions as Fox Sports host Rob Stone, Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter, electric music DJ Marshmello, and WWE Senior Account Manager Michael Giaccio.

This wasn’t Kyle Busch’s first appearance on Raw. Ten years ago, Busch and last year’s NASCAR champion Joey Logano were guest hosts as they drove their race cars and interacted with The Big Show and Chris Jericho.
