Jerry Lawler and his fiancee were both arrested Friday morning in Memphis on misdemeanor domestic assault-bodily harm charges. WWE announced Lawler was suspended indefinitely following the arrest.

Here’s the statement from WWE.

WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.

According to the affidavit, and WREG in Memphis, the two were involved in a violent confrontation at Lawler’s home in East Memphis. Lauryn McBride claims Lawler struck her in the head and pushed her into a stove while Lawler says McBride threw a candle at him, scratched him in the face, and kicked him in the groin.

McBride also claims that Lawler brought an unloaded pistol into the kitchen and told her to kill herself, while Lawler says McBride was drunk and she brought the pistol into the kitchen.

Lawler was previously arrested in 1999 for throwing a ticket at a Memphis police officer and running over his foot.
