The 5 best hockey fights from Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 of Hockey Fights of the Week! We’re once again profiling the top-5 scraps from the most recent week of the 2015-16 season.

There were only seven fights this week from around the NHL, so it was pretty easy to pick out five for our weekly feature. Such is life in the NHL where fighting is declining at such a rate that it’s almost a rare treat to see one unfold.

5. Clayton Stoner (ANA) vs Ryan Garbutt (CHI) – Oct. 26th

This is barely enough to be considered a fight, but pickings were slim this week. Stoner wasn’t happy about his goaltender being hit by Garbutt and he decided to let him have it.

4. Ryan Carter (MIN) vs Kyle Brodziak (STL) – Oct. 31st

The Halloween game between the Wild and Blues was an odd one. Aside from all of the weird bounces and plays was this fight between Carter and Brodziak. The Wild and Blues are developing a heated rivalry thanks to last year’s playoffs and the bad blood is still there. Brodziak, who skated for the Wild last year, quickly changed allegiances and Carter wanted to fight about it.

3. Luke Schenn (PHI) vs Marcus Foligno (BUF) – Oct. 30th

This fight is fairly brief and is mostly level, but we’re going to give Foligno a narrow edge. The majority of shots from both fighters appear to miss, but it looks like Foligno is able to catch Schenn a few times, earning him the win.

2. Chris Stewart (ANA) vs Jamie Oleksiak (DAL) – Oct. 27th

Stewart’s career has gone through some pretty rocky patches over the last several seasons, but there’s no denying he’s a tough player who is more than willing to drop the mitts. He tried to spark the Ducks early by combating Oleksiak, but things didn’t go according to plan. Stewart’s fight is about as ugly as the Ducks’ early record.

1. Anthony Peluso (WPG) vs Jared Boll (CBJ) – Oct. 31st

Peluso and Boll are two players you don’t want to mess with. Peluso loses his balance pretty early, but he regains his composure and ends up winning this one. Regardless, the fans are the winners for being able to see Boll and Peluso square off.
