Police report: Evander Kane allegedly threatened & choked a woman outside a Buffalo bar

New details have emerged about Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane and an incident with a woman at a nightclub.

The report, filed by the Buffalo Police Department, states Kane allegedly threatened and made derogatory comments to a woman while at the Bottoms Up Nite Club. According to the report, Kane grabbed the woman by the throat and tried to push her in the car.

General manager Tim Murray told Puck Daddy that he hasn’t yet drawn a conclusion on the Kane news, giving a non-comment answer about the potential legal proceedings.

“I don’t know all the details. I don’t know what’s right or wrong. I’m sitting right here, and you can come in and say ‘I’m over there banging my head against the wall,’ I don’t know. The police will investigate. There will be evidence or there won’t be evidence. And it’ll either go forward or it’ll go away.”

Murray admitted to Puck Daddy he was frustrated the case was public, but admitted “if true, we have to deal with it.”

The latest investigation isn’t the first time Kane has been in the news for allegedly assaulting a woman. Sexual assault charges were dropped in March against the Sabres star after it was determined there wasn’t enough evidence to continue the case. A woman went to the hospital to seek medical treatment after spending the night with Kane. She complained of memory issues.

Charges have not been filed against Kane. He is facing second-degree harassment charges according to the reports.
