The countdown is almost complete, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be racing in his final NASCAR race this Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The most popular driver in NASCAR will be stepping away and many Dale Jr. fans are trying to prepare for what will be a sad day.

This video package from Budweiser sure isn’t going to help the sadness stopping. Budweiser was Earnhardt’s first top series sponsor in 1999 and many of Dale Jr’s most memorable moments were in that legendary #8.

From his first win as a rookie in Texas to his Daytona 500 win to his emotional win at Daytona just five months after his father was killed on the same track, Budweiser was there for those moments. And even though they left when Dale Jr. went to Hendrick Motorsports in 2008, Budweiser has been a big part of Dale Earnhardt Jr’s life.

Dale Jr’s current sponsor Axalta will be putting together a throwback paint scheme that has the old Budweiser look. It’s quite fitting that the last time we’ll see Dale Earnhardt Jr. competing on a NASCAR track, it’ll be in the classic red and black.

  1. I would have liked to have seen more wins, but that’s OK, you’ve been fun cheering for. He’s been my driver from the beginning to the end. Enjoy your retirement and soon being a Dad
