It has been a rough couple of weeks for Bubba Wallace as the NASCAR Cup Series driver dealt with early struggles in Atlanta and then crashing out last week at Circuit of the Americas.

A week after Wallace seemed extremely hard on himself over mistakes and issues, he told reporters Friday that he’s focused on a comeback at this Sunday’s race in Richmond.

“We’re back and ready to go,” said Wallace about the No. 23 Toyota Camry team. “We just gotta get back to where we need to be.”

Wallace is looking to qualify for the Cup Series playoffs, which could happen with a win. His teammate Tyler Reddick has already done so with his win last week at Circuit of the Americas.

The No. 23 driver would love to get back on track this week as he only has one top-five finish through the first six races of the 2023 season. He did finish fourth in Las Vegas but has been dropping ever since. The last two weeks have seen Wallace finish 27th and 37th, respectively.

The NASCAR world is certainly rooting for Wallace to put it together and get back to his winning ways.

“Glad he’s back in that zone where he wants to be,” said one fan.

“Great to see him back in a good mental space,” said another fan.

“Nice to hear from Bubba here! I’m optimistic about this week but starting 28th here….we’ll see what he can do!!” added another fan.
