Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already dominating one sport as a player, and it looks like he’s now trying to get involved in another one as a partial owner.

On Monday, it was revealed that Patrick Mahomes had joined the Otro Capital investment group in their purchase of one quarter of the Alpine Formula 1 team. Mahomes is making the move along with his teammate Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce.

“The opportunity to lead an investor group with Travis in Alpine F1 alongside Otro Capital was one I couldn’t pass up. It’s an exciting time for the sport and this is an opportunity to bring our shared values to the world stage,” Mahomes said in a statement about the investment, according to The Athletic.

This is far from Mahomes’ only involvement in other sports leagues. He is also a minority owner of the Kansas City Royals, the Sporting Kansas City MLS team, as well as the Kansas City Current of the NWSL.

Still, it’s a pretty big move for Mahomes and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

It will be interesting to see how involved Mahomes and Kelce choose to be after this announcement.
