Tyler Reddick Tyler Reddick (8) waves from a truck before the NASCAR Kwik Trip 250, Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Elkhart Lake’s Road America near Elkhart Lake, Wis.

It’s been a few weeks since Tyler Reddick announced he would be joining the 23XI team of Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin in a few years. However, his current car owner, Richard Childress, is reportedly still furious at him.

In fact, an anonymous source with Richard Childress Racing has said that Childress wants Reddick gone now than later if he had his choice, per Yahoo! Sports.

For now, Reddick has committed to staying through 2024.

Meanwhile, the 23XI racing team has been making a lot of noise these last few weeks. They announced their commitment to Bubba Wallace last week as well, which may mean that Kurt Busch will be out soon once Reddick arrives in two years if he’s still with the team then. Some in the industry were shocked the team made a commitment to Wallace, not Busch, given that the latter will likely be in the playoffs this year.

However, despite Wallace not winning a race this year, he has had two top 2 finishes and is one of the hottest names in the sport. The same goes for Reddick. Busch, meanwhile, suffered a major head injury recently and has been unable to race, driving speculation about a potential retirement soon.

No one could blame the 23XI team for signing Reddick, but in the process, they may have made themselves a big enemy along the way.
