NASCAR driver Ryan Truex will stay with a prominent racing team for the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Joe Gibbs Racing added Truex to their roster on Thursday. He will race six times for JGR on the Xfinity Series circuit in 2023. The team announced the move on Thursday.

They tweeted, “6 races are on the schedule for Ryan Truex behind the wheel of our NASCAR Xfinity No. 19 Team Toyota GR Supra in 2023!”

Truex joined Joe Gibbs Racing for the 2022 season while he also raced for Sam Hunt Racing. He finished five races and finished as high as third. The third-place finish came at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the 2022 Alsco Uniforms 250. He otherwise finished 30th, 7th, 30th, and 6th.

With the announcement, he is with Joe Gibbs Racing for the fourth NASCAR Xfinity Series season in his career. Before 2022, he previously raced for JGR in 2011 and 2012.

Truex is the brother of 2017 NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin. He’s also the son of legendary driver Martin Truex Sr. In his career, he has raced 84 times on the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He attained one pole position prior t0 the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Dover Grid in 2012. He also recorded 27 Top 10 finishes in those 84 appearances. The driver has yet to win a race on the circuit in his previous 84 tries.
