Christian Pulisic’s hat trick last weekend to open his Premier League scoring account was a very impressive performance, and it’s seemingly cemented his place in Chelsea’s starting lineup.

That wasn’t a guarantee as recently as a few weeks ago, but Pulisic has responded to some adversity in the best way a player can: by scoring goals.

He continued the trend today against Watford, notching Chelsea’s second goal with a quick-reacting finish in the box.

This is a very refreshing turn of events for Pulisic and for fans of the USMNT in general, many of whom had at least started contemplating what it might look like if Pulisic never found a place at Chelsea. (They have plenty of examples to draw on.)

It also likely means further playing time for Pulisic, which could include a start this week in the Champions League against Ajax and fellow American Sergino Dest.
