Elon Musk is enjoying his time as a cultural icon these days. The success of his companies Tesla and SpaceX, as well as the purchase of the popular social website Twitter, which Musk renamed X, recently made Musk the first person to have his or her net worth exceed $400 billion.
All of that success has Musk turning his sights on the sports world, per his father.
“Elon Musk’s father, Errol Musk, has claimed that his son is interested in buying Liverpool Football Club,” reported Sky Sports News on Twitter on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Would instantly become the best owner in England and catapult Liverpool to being the powerhouse club in European football. Cant wait man,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Elon likes United and he is not buying United so zero chance he buys Liverpool,” one fan wrote.
“Elon Musk buying Liverpool FC? Interesting idea, but let’s not forget: football clubs are more than just assets to be leveraged. Will his involvement preserve the club’s identity, or turn it into another tech-backed brand?” one fan added.
“He clearly doesn’t know about the Scousers history of running the right wing out of town! I remember the EDL coming to march in Liverpool and not making it out of Lime Street Station,” another fan wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if Musk pulls off the move.
