Coaches across all sports often speak to the importance of throwing the first punch. Estonian League club Paide Linnameeskond needs some work in that area.

Fourteen seconds into a match against Levadia Tallinn, Paide managed an own goal without letting the opponent even touch the ball.

That’s as bad as it gets. Paide went on to lose 8-0. Surprised?

Maybe it’s time for Paide forfeit all future matches with Levadia and save some embarrassment. In June, Paide lost to Levadia, 5-2, and they had a rough start in that as well. Four minutes in, they bungled a simple play to allow an easy goal.

Somehow, Paide has avoided a relegation spot in the Estonian League so far. But that may not continue if they can’t learn to play soccer not-terribly.
