Over the years, German soccer star Giulia Gwinn has emerged as one of the biggest names in the sport and has used that fame to amass an absolutely massive following on social media. As a result, Playboy Magazine was looking to partner with the star athlete for a photo shoot leading up to the 2023 Women’s World Cup – but she is not interested.
According to German media outlet BILD, Playboy reached out to Giulia Gwinn and asked if she would consider taking off her clothes and posing for the magazine leading up to this month’s World Cup. But Playboy told the outlet in a statement that Gwinn declined, saying that this was “not an option for her.”
“Giulia Gwinn is not only an outstanding athlete, but also a beautiful young woman. So a personality like her is naturally interesting for Playboy,” Florian Boitin, editor-in-chief and publisher of Playboy Germany, said in a statement to BILD.

This would not have been the first time a German soccer star posed for the magazine. Ahead of the 2011 FIFA World Cup, five players from Germany’s U20 team appeared in the adult magazine.
Even though Gwinn turned down the photo shoot with Playboy Magazine, she will not be playing with Germany in the World Cup as she continues to recover from an injury.
