There have been some highly unusual kit designs in past years, with Spain dominating the landscape. There was the beer and octopus kits from Spanish team CD Lugo. And then there was the broccoli designed kit from Spanish team La Hoya Lorca with the tuxedo kit of Cultural y Deportivo Leonesa.

This year, Russia got in on the fun with FC Rostov designing a carpet kit where the shirt looks like a rug.

(Roughly translated: We 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 present to your attention the 4th [kit] of the game form for the season 2018/19! ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡ Pre-order for exclusive carpet collection from our club is already open! Pre-order can be made in LS of the official group VC:

What makes this interesting is that these strange kits are usually designed for lower league teams to try and be different, go viral and maybe get some attention and sell a few more shirts than they normally would. Rostov is in the Russian Premier League, the top league in Russia.

Because of that, these kits probably won’t be worn during matches and will probably be warmup shirts if anything. Rostov has already revealed three kits that are very much their conventional combination of blue and gold. Either way, these carpet kits are total locks for the “so bad, it’s good” category of soccer kit designs.
