The US Men’s National Team needed a big win and boy did they get themselves a big win. The USMNT has all but clinched qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a 5-1 dismantling of Panama. The Americans will automatically qualify on Wednesday night as long as Costa Rica doesn’t beat them by six or more goals.

USMNT captain Christian Pulisic especially came up huge during the must-win contest. The Hershey, PA native scored two early penalties and then mesmerized the masses with this incredible effort in the box to complete his hat trick. Pulisic is the sixth USMNT player to score a hat trick during World Cup qualifying.

Despite a sorry looking “Worm” goal celebration, Pulisic stepped up and has all but guaranteed a return to the World Cup after the United States missed out on 2018. Those who have been following the USMNT were very appreciative of Pulisic’s and the team’s performance.
