The mysterious death of 16-year-old Peruvian volleyball player Alessandra Chocano has local police seeking answers and are talking to people within the vicinity of what happened. One person who was there was Vancouver Whitecaps and Peru national team striker Yordy Reyna and police is expected to be talking to him about the night in question.

It’s important to note that Reyna hasn’t been charged, in fact no one is yet. According to America TV in Peru and The Providence that Reyna was with a group of his friends and met up with a group of Chocano’s friends as Reyna drove everyone to a club.

At the end of the night, Chocano and a man who was supposedly her boyfriend, went into a friend’s apartment while everyone else waited outside. About ten minutes later, the boyfriend ran out and said Chocano collapsed. When everyone came up, they saw Chocano laying in a pool of her own blood and died of a cerebral and pulmonary edema.

There’s a chance that there’s no foul play but police is making sure that’s the case because there seem to be some unanswered questions. It doesn’t seem like Reyna will be charged but if I was a police officer, I would ask Reyna if he noticed Chocano experiencing some of the symptoms that would indicate she was having an edema. That would help determine whether or not there’s any foul play. Either way, it’s a horrible tragedy.

  1. There is no worse blind than the one who does not want to see. Yordi knows the witness, friend of the deceased more than a year ago and they are friends, he lied when he said he did not know her, he also liked when he said tha the girl got into the room with her boyfriend, she had no boyfriend. They obviously tried to cover up Yordi. Then he lied saying that he was not there when the facts were given. Also, having a car, he could have helped her by taking her to the hospital since she was bleeding, as well as when he got her and her friend into the same car to take them to the apartment he rented. It is not that he was drunk, because his own lawyer said tonightthat Yordi DID NOT DRINK ANY alcoholic beverage. He did not want to take her to the hospital, instead, he “helped” to ask for a taxi, but most of them didn’t want to take her since the girl was full of blood.. they lost time!! Lies and negligence have short legs and the truth always comes to light, who owes nothing, nothing fears. The boy has been cornered in going out to say the “truth” because Congress woman Leila Chihuán and the Minister have pressed the police and the CSI team-since they don’t determine the causes of the dead-, but, as we peruvians know, like every other soccer player here, he was going to fix everything with money. Now we hope that this child of 16 years old could be in peace when the truth comes out.
