Donald Trump is back in the White House. In Trump’s first term from 2016-2020, many championship elected to pass on the tradition to visit the President and meet with him in the oval office on account of Trump’s controversial and divisive nature.

However, it appears as if there’s been a shift in the way sports teams and franchises are viewing Trump and the chance to visit the White House, as noted by one prominent member of the sports media landscape.

“The Dodgers are at the White House today. Ohio State next week and the Eagles at the end of the month. The sports world has ended its anti-Trump rebellion,” tweeted Outkick founder Clay Travis along with a video of the reigning World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers visiting the White House.

People reacted to Travis’s post on social media.

“Rebellion?!?! Trump isn’t their Father. Not attending is simply a protest or decision to not accept an invitation somewhere,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“So glad to see this. There are probably people in this photo who dislike Trump but who put aside those feelings to visit with him. This is a good start to heal our country,” added someone else.

“When the NBA decided to go to war against Trump and the Republican Party, they sealed their own fate. NBA ratings continue to crater, and the League is in an existential crisis. Good riddance to this leftist pressure group,” wrote someone else.

It’ll be interesting to see if this year’s NBA Finals winning team decides to visit Trump.
