WTA world no. 3 Coco Gauff sat down for an interview with Mercedes recently, where she discussed how she feels as this year’s clay tour gets underway, as well as her feelings about the surface.

I feel great. I’ve had some inconsistent results this year, but I think my performance in Miami gave me confidence and hopefully I’ll have a good feeling for the rest of the season,” Gauff said, per Marca.

Gauff also had a rather interesting admission about her feelings toward playing on court.

“You know, if you have a guy and they just treat you good and they do everything right, but it’s still just not there,” Gauff said. “That’s how I feel about clay. I have great results on clay. I do well on clay, but my socks get dirty. Like I have to take off my shoes like before I get in my room. It’s just a lot of things that I also don’t like about it.”

“But my career on clay has always been the first of everything. Junior title there, my first Grand Slam final, my first doubles Grand Slam. So it’s just one of those guys. It’s just, you know, maybe nice guys finish last,” she added.

Poeple on social media reacted to the funny moment.

“To be fair, The Clay Court Swing is long as h*ll,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“What was she remotely saying? Like bg just throwing shots at a random dude she talking to,” someone else added.

“Never stop putting her in front of a mic she’s been on a crazy run,” one fan wrote.

It’ll be interesting to see if she can defend her French Open title.
