This is a loaded Thursday Cheat Sheet, so let’s just get right to it… Giddy up!
The NBA Draft is tonight
Tonight, at 7 PM ET on ESPN, we get the highly anticipated 2017 NBA Draft.
We already know the Philadelphia 76ers will take Markelle Fultz with the No. 1 overall pick, but what about after that?
Will the Los Angeles Lakers take Lonzo Ball for sure? And will we get a reaction of Sad LaVar Ball if Lonzo isn’t taken by the Lakers (god, I hope so)?
Is Jimmy Butler staying put in Chicago (probably)?
And then the biggest story now heading into the night on the possible trade front…
Phil Jackson on Kristaps Porzingis: “As much as we love this guy, we have to do what’s best for the club.”
I’m a Chicago Bulls fan, so I generally have good thoughts when it comes to Phil Jackson. If I were a Knicks fan, well, unless you were around for when he was winning titles in the early 70s, you probably don’t hold Phil in the highest regard.
Since Jackson took over as the Knicks’ president of basketball operations in 2014, the organization’s mess has gotten even messier. The franchise has pretty much no direction, and Jackson’s eye-opening honesty in recent months has been a highly unusual strategy for a front office member (especially one in a major market for a historic franchise).
For example, in April, Jackson said that Knicks star Carmelo Anthony “would be better off somewhere else.” Most Knicks fans at this point would probably agree with him on that one at least.
But now it seems Jackson is looking to trade Kristaps Porzingis, a 7’3″, 21-year-old star with a massive ceiling! This is the exact kind of guy the Knicks should be trying to build around, but, it appears they really may deal him.
Knicks have made calls about Kristaps Porzingis, aiming for a top-four pick to get Josh Jackson. – @WojVerticalNBA https://t.co/zT5sHvQJGZ

Phil Jackson on Kristaps: "As much as we love this guy, we have to do what's best for the club."

And then this one:
Phil Jackson, asked what he'd say to skittish Knicks fans: "I think we know what we're doing."

Lol, okay.
So, that will obviously be a big story to monitor today, and you’d have to think every other organization (or at least the competent ones) would LOVE to be able to acquire Porzingis.
The Vegas Golden Knights had their expansion draft
The new hockey franchise in Las Vegas, the Vegas Golden Knights, now have a roster. Check it out:

Also included was the organization’s owner Bill Foley having a bit of a slip-up.
A new Game of Thrones trailer came out yesterday
Less than a month away (July 16) from the Season 7 premiere. And it sure looks like this season is going to be insane:
Quick Hits
– The new NBA salary cap set, and it’s lower than expected:
NBA teams just found out they're getting $3 million less in salary cap space. Cap expected to come at $99M, down from $102M projection
— Brian Windhorst (@WindhorstESPN) June 22, 2017
– Jarrod Dyson bunted to break up Justin Verlander’s perfect game, and many people were quite angry because of unwritten rules (which I wish could go away forever).
– Orlando Arcia made an absurd play to secure a one-run win for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Would you rather end a game with a walk-off homer or this bit of magic? pic.twitter.com/4w0vTuD9m9

– Joey Gallo had a hilarious inside-the-park homer.

Wilmer Flores was upset that Yasiel Puig admired his homer. "I told him to run the bases." What did Puig say? "F— you."

More Flores: "I don't think he knows what having respect for the game is. We're playing horrible right now. We don't need his s—."
— J.P. Hoornstra (@jphoornstra) June 22, 2017
Yasiel Puig agreed with Wilmer Flores' assessment: The Mets are not playing good baseball.

– Well now this guy can’t shave after future Hall of Famer Miguel Cabrera played with his beard.

– Could the 76ers already be a playoff team in 2018? That seems nuts to think about, but with Markelle Fultz, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid, in the dumpster fire that is the Eastern Conference… why not?
– A Watchmen television series is in the works for HBO with The Leftovers executive producer Damon Lindelof. The Leftovers — which just finished is third, final season — has been the best show on TV this year in my opinion.
– Is Super Mario a human? Folks, this is a big one.
After decades of speculation, Nintendo reveals whether or not Mario is human
– The new Transformers movie is “total nonsense” and a “clusterfuck”.
– Sega Forever is now available on your mobile device to play retro Sega games for free. Hell yes.
– There is now a Lucky Charms milkshake at Burger King.
Burger King is at it again by mixing Lucky Charms with a milkshake
One last glorious moment of procrastination
This dog may be the only one more honest in a mess than Phil Jackson.
Screw it, one more glorious moment of procrastination
As I frequently say, sometimes it’s better to not have context.
