Summer is for smores
It turns out my dad has never eaten a smore in his entire life. I just want to know how that is possible. Have you eaten a smore? Of course you have, because you enjoy the finer and simpler things in life, like this morning’s edition of The Cheat Sheet. Let’s hit it.
Curry and Durant power Warriors past Cavs again
Kevin Durant and Steph Curry combined for 65 points to help pace the Golden State Warriors to another victory in the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers. And, best of all, Steve Kerr returned to the Warriors bench to coach the team. Despite 29 points from LeBron James and 27 from Kevin Love, the Cavs were once again simply not able to keep up the pace in the second half against the Warriors in a 132-113 Game 2 victory for the champions of the west.
It was just one of those nights where the Warriors were either too quick down the court or flat out impossible to defend.

History was made in Game 2 with James and Curry becoming the first two opposing players to record a triple-double in the same game in the NBA Finals. But it was Curry who managed to work his way around James. Check out this sequence, in slow motion…

The two teams combined for a record high point total in the first half too.

After the game, cameras caught a couple of fans duking it out near the court as LeBron James walked by.
Somebody also seemingly asked about LeBron’s concern about playing at home, and LeBron answered the dumb question in an entirely appropriate way.

The NBA Finals now takes a few days off as it moves to Cleveland for Game 3 on Wednesday night. Why they need so much time between games is beyond me, but such is life in the NBA. In the meantime, let’s try not to get too carried away with things…

Peyton Manning played golf with The President
This one may surprise you, but Donald Trump was out playing golf this weekend, fresh off another week of self-described winning and after a morning of spitting fire on Twitter. He was joined by Peyton Manning. The two have crossed paths before, including when Trump claimed a standing ovation he received at CIA headquarters was longer than the standing ovation Manning received after winning the Super Bowl.
Donald Trump has spent more time with Peyton Manning than his wife and son this week.

Ho-hum. Pujols hits 600th HR, Volquez throws no-hitter and few seem to care
Once upon a time, hitting 600 career home runs was one of the most celebrated of milestones, but now it seems to be nothing more than a mild side story in the baseball world. But let;s not let the increasing home run numbers take away from celebrating some history achieved by Albert Pujols over the weekend. Pujols slammed his 600th career home run Saturday night with a grand slam. It is a shame this milestone was not achieved in a Cardinals uniform, but Pujols remains a bat in the lineup you cannot rest on with the Angels.
Also, Edison Volquez tossed a no-hitter for the Miami Marlins on Saturday night. Much like the milestone home runs, the no-hitter seems to have lost its spot in the spotlight whenever it does happen. In related news, the fish tank behind home plate at Marlins Park took a hit.
