There were six NBA games and ten NHL games on Tuesday night, but the sports world focused largely on the United States Presidential Election on Tuesday night.

The Sports World had its eyes on the Election

In one of if not the biggest election in the history of the United States, Twitter exploded with election thoughts, analysis, and more from athletes, broadcasters, and more from around the world of sports.

While the world of sports focused on the Election, there were actually you know, sporting events and stories breaking.

Oh yeah and Donald Trump had a cake made that may become a meme.

The Texas Rangers May Have Gotten Their New Ballpark

In San Diego, California and Arlington, Texas the San Diego Chargers and Texas Rangers respectively kept an eye on local voting results as both teams were relying on voters to choose if they would get public voting for new stadiums.

In Texas, the Mayor of Arlington declared early on it looked like the Rangers would get what they needed.

And others reported the Rangers were successful as well.

Meanwhile the Rangers themselves didn’t want to admit they got what they wanted.

Staying in Texas, the Romo vs. Prescott Debate Continued to Rage

Dallas Cowboys v New Orleans Saints

The Dallas Cowboys are 7-1 and in first place in the NFC East, but for some reason, Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones continues to add fuel to the fire of the Dak Prescott vs. Tony Romo debate.

“I know he’s going to be a lot more active during the week relative to how we’re practicing,” Jones said Tuesday, referring to Romo. “That’s his plan and that’s what we’re excited about. He’ll be out there really pushing himself. And he has been, but he’ll be really stepping that up. That’s the key.”

Let’s unpack that. Jones is referring to Romo “pushing himself” and exciting the team because of how much he is practicing and working towards coming back.

Keep in mind, earlier this year, Jones said regardless of how Prescott played, if Romo worked hard he would be the starting QB when he returned.

But now, Jones has elaborated on that.

“Anybody with any sense knows that Tony would like to be playing if they understand what a competitor he is,” Jones said. “The key thing I want to emphasize is we probably are never going to have this totally sorted out. We’re going to play it by ear, play it as it comes. We can do that.”

Overall it’ll be interesting to see what ends up happening with “America’s Team,” but at the end of the day, it seems incredibly silly that this is even a question.

The NCAA Dropped a Bomb When Nobody Was Watching

Talk about an Election Day news dump.

Baylor looks like it will dodge major penalties and sanctions that Penn State dealt with after the Jerry Sandusky scandal. This is of course a result of the ongoing sexual assault case going on with the Bears’ football program.

The Wall Street Journal reported the NCAA made the decision recently and already spoke with Baylor:

“(The NCAA) has notified Baylor that it won’t exert its executive authority to impose sweeping sanctions against the school for broad institutional failings” and they, “will instead follow its normal investigative process.”

That’s truly the news dumps of all news dumps. The WSJ late goes on to state Baylor is cooperating with the investigation which is looking into players receiving preferential treatment surrounding discipline, which could technically be construed as impermissible benefits, which of course the NCAA doesn’t allow.

Normally this would lead to sanctions that are more common among University investigations instead of the massive penalties Penn State was given.

This comes on the heals of an October report from the WSJ that 17 women reported sexual or domestic assault incidents involving 19 football players since 2011. Baylor is under a Title IX investigation, and victims of the sexual and domestic assaults have filed a few civil lawsuits against the school as well.

The New York Knicks Are Still The New York Knicks

Some things truly never change and that includes the New York Knicks being drama free.

The Knicks sit at 2-4 right now after six games and that has Phil Jackson scared. The team’s President is reportedly hired Jeff Hornacek to be the new Head Coach of the team, but apparently doesn’t trust him fully with that only six games into the season.

Hornacek is focusing on a half-court style offense to create scoring opportunities. Possibly as a result of his focus on offense, the Knicks have put someone else in charge of defense, arguably taking away half of Hornacek’s job.

Talk about hitting the panic button quickly. Six games in and they’re already taking away half of their Head Coach’s job. Sheesh.

A random ‘The Office’ related video:

A lot of people tweeted out the below scene in response to the Election results and I think it’s extremely fitting. Well they mostly tweeted Michael saying “EVERYBODY STAY F%$&#*@ CALM.”

I’ll miss these the most about President Obama in the White House. Man was he wrong about Villanova.
