There has been some serious flooding in Lubbock, Texas, and things have gotten pretty serious in the city. The rain has just been non-stop in the southern region of the United States.

News West 9 reports that due to the rain, there have been multiple closings with stranded motorists:

City of Lubbock says due to the heavy rain and associated street flooding, Citibus’ system wide bus service is affected. Citibus will resume service as soon as possible.

Flooding has also been reported on the Marsha Sharp Freeway at the University Avenue underpass. Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and avoid the area.

Additional areas within the city are also experiencing flooding. Drivers are asked to use caution and avoid driving through flooded areas.

Some folks have not taken the weather as seriously as others have, as evidenced by this Twitter video. User Leah Doherty posted this video of somebody driving a massive truck, towing a guy riding a wakeboard.

While it looks like an extremely fun time, we wouldn’t necessarily advise doing this in floods this severe. But it does appear that they are in much safer conditions than what have been seen in other parts of Lubbock.
