Listen, do bears kill people? Yes, yes they do. That’s just what happens when you meet a bear sometimes.
Can they be terrifying in certain contexts? Absolutely. Here’s one of those contexts, even:
(Also, that guy went back and killed that bear, and I’m not really pleased about it. If I’m ever mauled to death by a bear, please don’t kill it, because I’m sure in whatever context it occurred the he or she had the right of way.)
Sometimes, though, bears are delightful, as was the case in Vail, Colorado, when one came in through an open window and had himself a grand old time.
When homeowners returned to their home, they discovered that their kitchen had been trashed. Assuming it was a burglar, they called the police, who eventually suspected that the intruder was an animal. That’s when they inquired about home security surveillance and asked to review the footage.
A security camera was rolling as the bear roamed around the living room. At one point, you can see the bear get up on the piano and look outside, striking the keys as it peered out the window. The bear continued into the kitchen and into a bedroom.
And is there video? Preferably with audio? Oh, absolutely, on both counts:

Hmm, so he’s not quite your regular Beary Manilow, but he shows promise. (And, again, thankfully no one was home to get injured, but no one was home, and no one was injured, so we just get to enjoy this video.)
What about the homeowners who had to deal with the aftermath, though? Could they find it in their hearts to absolve it? Well, I don’t know, but maybe if they read this tweet they can:
sorry, sorry, trying to remove
to bear is human, to forgive is ursine

Keep practicing, bear, and maybe one day you’ll make it big.
