TeRio now and then.

TeRio, the child who achieved viral fame for staring at a camera side-eyed in Popeye’s Louisana Chicken, is now officially a college football player.

TMZ broke the news.

Lake Erie College freshman offensive lineman Dieunerst Collin is TeRio in adult form.

Collin is now a 6’1″, 330-pounder who won a state championship with East Orange Campus high school in New Jersey in 2021, according to TMZ.

“Popeyes, I JUST WANNA TALK BUSINESS,” Collin wrote on Instagram this weekend.

TMZ says Collin is currently studying sports management and comedian studies. One day he would like to become a sports analyst.

Popeyes was founded in 1971 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Its currently headquartered in Miami. It has over 3,700 restaurants in over 46 states.

According to its Wikipedia, the restaurant first opened as “Chicken on the Run.” Owner Al Copeland wanted “to compete with Kentucky Fried Chicken, but his restaurant failed after several months.”

He then re-opened the restaurant four days later as Popeyes Mighty Good Chicken before changing the name to Popeyes Famous Fried Chicken in 1975.

It remains to be seen if Popeyes will sign Collin to a deal, though the stars would certainly appear to be aligning since a deal is possible.
