Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) celebrates a three-point basket Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, during the game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark missed the majority of the 2025 WNBA season with lower-body injuries, but is fully healthy and looking to have a strong season, provided there is one, as negotiations continue between the league and players’ union over a new CBA.

Regardless of what happens with CBA talks, Clark will finally take the court in an official capacity again for this month’s FIBA World Cup Qualifiers when she suits up for Team USA.

Unfortunately, one of her Fever teammates won’t be able to suit up with her, according to one Fever reporter.

“Aliyah Boston will no longer compete in the World Cup qualifiers after her right lower extremity injury in Unrivaled, per USA Basketball. Fever PR: ‘Aliyah Boston will return to Indianapolis for further evaluation. Additional updates will be provided as they become available,'” reported Chloe Peterson on Thursday.

Fans reacted to the news that Clark may be without one of her most important teammates for the start of the 2026 season on social media.

“Now if she was paid the $1 million max will u let him play in another league & possibly get injured. Won’t teams want to protect their investments? That contract should come with a clause not to play in another league. Probably why CC doesn’t play, probably in some NIL deal,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Is womens hoops turning into hockey? Wtf is a lower extremity injury? Foot? Toe? Ankle? We just supposed to guess at it?” someone else added.

“The only thing that gives me solace here is thst she didn’t leave Miami immediately. She was there last night. If it were serious I gotta believe she would have been back in indy asap,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see when Boston is cleared to return to action.
