The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game will take place on July 25 in Chicago, IL, but one of the most impressive teams this season, the Atlanta Dream, won’t have any starters in the game. Star Dream forward Angel Reese, whom the franchise acquired over the offseason via trade, did not hold back on what she felt was a snub.
“I expect to be disrespected,” Reese said, per ESPN. “For those two though, I think they work so hard and they put a lot of work in, and the way that they’re guarded every game and they [have to] adjust. The reason why we’re where we are is because of those two.
“For us not to have anyone was just a slap in the face, but they’re not going to say anything. I am.”
Reese predicted that the Dream would still have All-Star representatives as reserves.
“I’m sure we’re still going to be All-Stars. I have no doubt in my mind that we still will be,” she said, “but I think it is important to note that none of us were starters on a team that has had so much success this year.”
Her prediction wound up being true, with Reese, Allisha Gray, and Rhyne Howard all being named as All-Star reserves. After being named to her third All-Star team in as many seasons, Reese took to social media and posted a video to “the nonbelievers, underachievers, and ‘tweet and deleters.”

Many fans felt that Reese should’ve taken the All-Star selection with more humility.
“2nd hand embarrassment dawg, ” one fan posted on X.
“She’s so full of herself and wonders why people don’t like her, shooting 41% in the paint is embarrassing,” another fan added.
“Need to change the name of her podcast from unapologetic to insufferable,” another fan wrote.
If fans aren’t happy about Reese’s confidence in herself, their favorite players will simply need to find a way to stop her on the court. Until then, she’ll take extra comfort in knowing that the WNBA’s All-Star Weekend will host games at the newly opened Obama Presidential Center, as she has said that former First Lady Michelle Obama is one of her biggest role models.
Regardless of how anyone feels about it, Reese keeps stacking up the wins.
