Next month, WNBA superstar Brittney Griner will officially return to the basketball court after missing all of last season while she was detained in Russia for 10 months on drug charges after authorities found a small amount of prescription cannabis oil in her luggage at the airport. And as Brittney Griner prepares for her triumphant return to the court, the family is celebrating for another reason.
This week, Brittney Griner announced on her Instagram account that her wife, Cherelle Griner, officially became a lawyer over the weekend.
“There aren’t enough words for me to express how abundantly proud I am of you baby. To be able to see first hand the hard work, determination, and passion you had during this journey of becoming an attorney! Congratulations Attorney Cherelle Griner,” Brittney Griner said in the post.

The post has since gone absolutely viral on Instagram, receiving over 25,000 “likes” on the social media platform and over 500 fans commenting their congratulations to Cherelle Griner.
It’s a major accomplishment for Cherelle Griner. And with Brittney Griner’s release, her return to the court and now this announcement, this family has certainly had a lot to celebrate lately.
