Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is the biggest star in the WNBA, but Fox Sports personality Colin Cowherd thinks it’s time for her to start winning.
During a recent episode of his show, Cowherd declared that after Clark’s meteoric rise to superstardom, it’s now time for her to actually start winning in the postseason.
Cowherd compared Clark to Taylor Swift in the sense that she’s past the point of everyone simply appreciating her because she’s a young sensation. Now, it’s time for her to actually perform at a high level.
“When is she gonna start winning at the next level? She has not won a playoff series yet. My take is, she has her Pippen, Kelsey Mitchell,” Cowherd said. “This is not hating on Caitlin Clark, but the stage of ‘Wow, who’s the new kid?’ I’m done with that. That was awesome. That was Taylor Swift’s self-titled album… and then it was ‘Fearless,’ which crushed her self-titled album. I need ‘Fearless.’”

Unlike Tyrone Johnson, though, a radio personality who infamously declared “the Caitlin Clark thing” to be “over” last week, Cowherd made it clear that he did not intend to be critical of Clark. In fact, he thinks she is fully capable of the type of greatness required to lead a team to postseason glory.
However, the reality is that it hasn’t happened yet. For all the hype and the superstardom, Clark has not actually won much of anything at the WNBA level. In fact, she did not win a championship at the college level, either.
“Has she won a playoff game?” Cowherd asked. “No, she hasn’t even won a playoff game, forget a series… This team should vie for the championship if she is what I think she is.”
Clark is clearly one of the most talented players in the league and the most popular player to ever play in the WNBA. Cowherd thinks it’s time that she start living up to the hype.
The good news is that Clark is already putting up MVP numbers, averaging 24.3 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds per game. We’ll have to see if she can keep that up over the course of the season and then lead her team on a run through the postseason, as well.
