The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever faced off on Saturday, and it was anything but a drama-free contest. In the first quarter, controversial guard Sophie Cunningham was on the wrong side of a flagrant 2 foul after she was struck in the face by Sky guard Dijonai Carrington and crashed to the floor.
After she was ejected for the foul, it didn’t take long for Carrington to make it clear how she felt about the situation and being removed from the game.
“WHITE PRIVILEGE,” she wrote on Threads, tagging the Indiana Fever’s official account on the platform.

In the third quarter, it was Caitlin Clark who was the aggrieved party. After seemingly running into a game official innocuously, Clark was assessed a technical foul for what the official deemed to be “extra contact.”

The technical is Clark’s eighth of the season, which means it warrants an automatic one-game suspension.
After her seventh technical of the season, Clark talked about continuing to play with emotion despite being on the brink of a suspension.
“I’m never gonna back down,” she said. “I think just continue to try to control your emotions the best you can. That intensity and that fire is what makes me me, but also knowing my team needs me and finding a good balance of that. But I don’t think I’m gonna be playing with that in the back of my head.”
Her head coach, Stephanie White, was also unconcerned with the situation.
“Anybody who thinks that I have a plan to be strategic about technical fouls is crazy,” White said. “I mean, look, she’s just gotta pick and choose, right? She’s gotta pick and choose, and it’s every two after that. So I think the biggest thing is she knows, she has awareness about it.
“We’ll try to help her when we can, but sometimes we can’t. And if she wants to be strategic about which game she doesn’t want to play, then she’ll let her fly.”
It would appear maybe the pair should’ve been just a touch more concerned. If the tech isn’t rescinded, the Fever will be without its superstar for Tuesday’s pivotal contest against the New York Liberty.
