The sports world has sorely missed watching Indiana Fever point guard Caitlin Clark dominate on the hardwood after the majority of her 2025 season was lost to nagging lower-body injuries. Clark even spoke about the responsibility she felt to get back and compete for her fans.
“It’s hard, because obviously I do feel this responsibility of being out there and playing,” she said told WNBA legend Sue Bird’s on Bird’s podcast, Bird’s Eye View, according to Awful Announcing.
“And not that I think there’s a fear of any of this going away. That doesn’t happen when like, LeBron or Steph get hurt. [Fans] are always going to be there,” Clark added.”But you do want to play, you want to give people something to cheer about or scream about.
“People spend so much time, and money, and resources to come and watch you play. And it’s been cool to see people continue to show up for my teammates, whether they’re fans of the Fever just fans of myself, they’re continuing to show up and support.”
Luckily for fans, she’s back in action and ready for the 2026 season to tip off, and is already hitting game winners in the Fever facilities.
Fans might even get to see Clark, who is already an avid golfer, showcase her talent in a new sport, depending on how much she was or wasn’t joking on her Instagram. After being gifted a pair of Nike Phantom cleats from FC Barcelona star Alexia Putellas, Clark posted that she was coming out of retirement.

While Clark was almost certainly joking, she was a phenomenal soccer player back in her high school days. What do you think? Does she still have what it takes to light up the pitch the same way she does the court?
