Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has impressed every step of the way in her brief WNBA career thus far. But after her game on Tuesday, she tied for a WNBA record that will perhaps never be broken again once she holds it on her own.
The Fever lost their first game of the season to the Atlanta Dream. But this wasn’t for a lack of effort from Clark, who did everything possible offensively to keep her team in the game, scoring a game-high 27 points along with 11 assists on the night.
During the game, a graphic was put up on the screen outlining just how dominant she has been on the offensive side of the ball in her career.
Her performance was the tenth game of her career where she has recorded 20 points or more in a game with at least ten assists to boot. With this, she tied the previous record holder for 20-10 games in a career, which was held solely by Chicago Sky veteran Courtney Vandersloot.
The truly mindblowing thing about Clark nearing the record at this point in her career is that she is nearing it just 41 games into her WNBA career. Meanwhile, it took Vandersloot 430 career games to accomplish the same feat, meaning that Clark did so in just over ten percent of the amount of games that it took Vandersloot to do so.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy took to social media to point out just how incredible this feat from Clark truly is in a post on social media.
“This is the most ridiculous Caitlin Clark stat ever,” wrote Portnoy in a post on X. “She just tied this record in 42 games.”

Just imagine where this record will be one day when Clark is at the point of her career that Vandersloot is, at 36 years of age…
Surely, there will be even more records broken in the years to come by Clark. But already, it’s truly unbelievable to see just how historically great Clark already is in the WNBA.
