The WNBA has exploded since the arrival of Indiana Fever point guard Caitlin Clark. Clark’s star power has propelled the league to never-before-seen levels of popularity. However, many have felt like Clark hasn’t been embraced by other members of the WNBA community and especially the game’s legends and Hall of Famers.
Fans were especially adamant that former Phoenix Mercury star and surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer Diana Taurasi had a grudge against Clark. That context is what makes a recent statement from Taurasis all the more shocking.
“What Caitlin’s done in the last 4 years is just mind-blowing. she’s taken her fame and really moved the game forward. but the thing i love the most about her, is she loves the game of basketball—she plays at a level nobody has reached yet in the wnba,” said the Mercury legend.

Fans reacted to Taurasi on social media.
“She doesn’t mean anything she is saying too late,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“So they are coming around, or reality woke them up?” someone else wanted to know.
“They’re going to start calling her a hater and disrespect all her records now,” anotheer fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if other legends of the W start to give Clark her flowers now.
